Palawan International Chamber of Employers Commerce and industry, Inc recognizes Commodore Allan O. Corpuz, the former Chief of Philippine Coast Guard of Palawan, for his valuable contribution to the local economy especially during quarantine days.
Corpuz was assigned in Palawan since November 2019 and just ended his term this July, he is identified for his 24/7 brand of leadership. Under his term, he was able to assign two major coast guard ship in Kalayaan Group of islands, aligned with strengthening the security in the West Philippine Sea.
The commendation was based on the Resolution no.008 of the said business chambers signed by President Jeff Armedilla and was approved by the Chairman of the Board, Bobby Castro. The said motion was an initiative of Atty. Allan B. Carlos, the Chief General Legal Counsel and was dated August3, 2020.
On the resolution, Corpuz was instrumental in keeping the local business sectors survive the pandemic, among them is his initiative in forming maritime task force that assists the transport of cargo of vital commodities, that were delivered in all major ports of Palawan.
Corpuz also helped local businesses especially those engaged in supplying marine resources from Palawan, to other parts of the country, he was the head of Task Force COVID-19 water cluster in the province.
Armedilla personally gave the commendation to Corpuz last August 5 together with Atty. Carlos in awarding the plaque. Beginning this August, Corpuz a native of Ilocos region will be assigned in the Marine Environmental Protection command as Deputy Commander at PCG National Headquarters in Manila.
