The number of deaths among COVID-19 patients in the last four months revealed that those who were unvaccinated is way higher compared to those who have received their first doses or were fully inoculated, data from the Puerto Princesa City Information Office revealed.
Of the 129 deaths from June to September 2021, 89.9% or 116 were unvaccinated while 10 were partially vaccinated and only 3 were fully vaccinated. This PIO data is based on the vaccination team and interviews of the family of the 129 deceased patients.
Of these 129 deceased individuals, 110 were between 50 years old and above while 4 were between 30 years old and below, 8 between 31 to 40 years old, and 7 were in the 41 to 50 age bracket.
From January to September this year, 238 deaths were logged due to COVID-19. Of this total, 172 were RT-PCR confirmed, 63 Antigen reactive, and 3 COVID-19 suspected cases. Meanwhile, on Friday, September 24, 2021, the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) PPC added 127 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total active cases to 673.
