On the first day of the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) in Puerto Princesa City, Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron yesterday reminded the residents to properly observe health protocols such as social distancing and disinfection as he also urged authorities, law enforcers and employers to enforce the mandatory wearing of face masks.

“Mandatory wearing of face masks is the ‘new normal’ in the city,” he said.

To ensure that the mandatory wearing of face mask is observed and complied with, he instructed the Philippine National Police (PNP) particularly the City PNP, the City Anti-Crime Task Force, the City Traffic Management Office, all 66 Punong Barangays, and private employers that health protocols are properly observed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Mayor Bayron said that he ordered the City’s police director to intensify police visibility to ensure that health protocols are properly complied with by the city residents. The curfew this time under MGCQ is from 10:00 PM until 5:00 AM.
