The Puerto Princesa City Jail-Bureau of Management and Penology (PPCJ-BJMP) has established vegetable gardens to help suffice the impending need for food during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Jail Officer Filly Erika Argueza, the community relations officer of PPCJ, told Palawan Daily News (PDN) Friday this was initiated by their warden, Jail Senior Inspector Irene Gaspar.

Jail Officer Argueza said Yamang Bukid, a farm in Palawan, also donated additional vegetable seedlings to them.

Argueza said some of those that they have already planted are pechay (Chinese cabbage), ampalaya (bitter gourd), and papaya.

She said both the persons deprived of liberty (PDL) and the jail personnel are going to work hand in hand tending the garden.
