Man arrested for illegal drugs in Barangay Sta. Cruz

Amid the ongoing Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Holy Week, PNP Station 2 arrested Friday afternoon one drug suspect in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Puerto Princesa City.

The suspect was identified as Mark Anthony Rodriguez, legal age and a resident of Purok Masaya, Libis Road in Barangay San Pedro.

Police Captain Alevic Rentino, Station 2 Commander said that they conducted a buy bust operation against the suspect resulting to his arrest.

“Parang business as usual sa kanila kahit ganito ang sitwasyon natin ngayon pero tayo naman ay hindi nagpapabaya sa iba pa nating tungkulin bilang pulis kaya tuloy ang kampanya natin kontra droga kahit may ECQ pa tayo,” Rentino told PDN.

Confiscated from Rodriguez is one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, P700 marked money and another plastic sachet also containing believed to be shabu during body seach.

The suspect is currently detained at Puerto Princesa City Police Office Custodial facility while preparing the needed documents for filing appropriate charges against Rodriguez including the violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
