Layunin na mapabuti ang pamamahala ng mga Marine Protected Areas (MPA) sa Palawan ito ang isa sa mga nilahokan ng mga kawani ng Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) sa naging MPA Network Capacitation Training noong ika-12 hanggang 13 ng Setyembre.

Ang nasabing pagsasanay ay isinagawa sa pakikipagtulungan ng Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, kasama ang USAID Fish Right at World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Philippines, at nagtuon ito sa kasalukuyang kalagayan ng lahat ng mga MPA sa Palawan. Sa pagkakataong ito, naging daan ito para sa mga tagapamahala ng MPA na maibahagi ang kanilang mga pinakamahuhusay na pamamaraan sa pangangalaga at proteksyon ng mga MPA.

Pagkakataon rin para sa PCSDS na matutunan ang paggamit ng mga assessment tool tulad ng Management Effectiveness Assessment Tool (MEAT), Network Effectiveness Assessment Tool (NEAT), at Socio-economic Assessment Tool (SEAT) upang masuri ang pagganap ng MPA/Ns. Maaring gamitin ang mga tool na ito ng PCSDS sa kanilang pagpaplano para sa Environmentally Critical Areas Network (ECAN) Coastal Zoning sa Palawan.

Bukod sa PCSDS, dumalo rin sa pagsasanay ang mga kinatawan mula sa Municipal Agriculture Officers (MAOs), Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs), mga tagapamahala ng Marine Protected Areas, Fisheries Technicians, PG-ENRO, Sanggunian Bayan Members, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), at maging mula sa Environmental Legal Assistance Center (ELAC), kasama pa ang iba pang mga kalahok.
