The City Government of Puerto Princesa officially started the construction of its sanitation and wastewater treatment facility that costs around P240 million as the ground-breaking ceremony was held last Sunday, November 18.

A joint venture agreement between the City Government and Ecosystem Technologies International Inc. (ESTII) was inked.

The facility will process the wastewater of the city and will ensure that it will not dispose of harmful and polluted residues to Puerto Princesa City Bay.

The treatment facility, which will be situated at Brgy. San Isidro, will treat dirty water from canals, septic tanks and other residues coming from the domestic and commercial establishments in the city.

It is projected that the construction will be fully finished within nine months. The groundbreaking ceremony held last November 18 was attended by the City Government officials, ESTII President Engr. Robert So and former DENR Secretary Gina Lopez.
