The newly purchased 2 units of freezer for Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine have arrived in Puerto Princesa City on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. City Health Office (CHO) is now ready to receive the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 from the National Government.

According to City Information Office, City Health Officer Dr. Ricardo Panganiban said that he already informed the Department of Health (DOH) about the city’s own freezer and its readiness to receive the Pfizer vaccine and just waiting for the arrival of the freezer supplier’s technician to power it up before it can be used.

“Inaasahang sa oras na mayroong dumating na Pfizer vaccine sa bansa ay mabibigyan ng alokasyon ang lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ngayong mayroon na itong sariling freezer na mapaglalagyan na naayon sa pangangailangan nito.” He added.

The ultra-cold freezer has a temperature of -70°C to -80°C which is the main requirement of Pfizer. It can handle 5,000 to 7,000 vials of the said vaccine.

Meanwhile, Sinovac, AstraZeneca and Gamaleya Sputnik are currently available at the city’s mega vaccination site.
