      “Wow si Mom” Year 2: Her Story, Heart & Passion

      The cause-oriented organization will continue making a difference to the lives of women at their special day on May 12, second Sunday of May at the annual celebration of Mother’s Day. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Puerto Princesa Oil in partnership with NCCC Mall Palawan organized a pro-women program dubbed as “Wow si Mom” Year 2. The whole day event with full packed activities that cater to women needs which are related to health, wellness, recreation, livelihood, smart parenting talk, that offers lots of fun, freebies, and surprises and will be supported by Palawan Daily News, City Health Office, HB1+ Pharmacy, Tatak ni Tatang Printing Press, Mary Kay Products, YK Bed & Breakfast, Jphotography and other generous sponsors.

      A kilometer fun run with mother and child tandem and dance Zumba session will open the morning activities on May 12 at 6:00 AM. Kids must be a 9-12 year old to qualify and participate in a fun run named as Amos Ta Run, Mom!. The fun run aims to create an awareness campaign on the importance of breastfeeding and the creation of a human milk bank in Palawan for premature and ailing babies. This life-saving program would be a legacy of “Wow si Mom” on its second year.

      The simultaneous activities and program at Activity Center, NCCC Mall Palawan will start by 9:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM, and no registration fee. JCI Oil members, Junior Jaycees, NCCC Marketing Staff and Kiwanis Club of the Last Frontier will facilitate all the activities inside the mall. Lucky shoppers will get a chance to participate and win for a free makeover with a gift certificate and free photo shoot with Jphotography and printed copy of her photo from Tronix Imaging Center. Freebies, games, prizes, and raffles await all participants and lucky shoppers. Salon 101 and Skin Care Session with Mary Kay will treat and pamper mommies on this special day. Some entrepreneur mommies known as Mompreneur will share their home based business idea as an additional and decent source of income for families at the trade fair. Challenges faced by most mothers to raise kids today will be discussed at Smart Parenting Talk. Free medical check-up, HIV consultation and testing, and free prenatal services will address health issues of pregnant mommies and her unborn child.

      In closing, ten outstanding mothers in Palawan at the various field will be recognized as a recipient of 2nd Gawad Ulirang Ina Award. JCI Puerto Princesa Oil in partnership with JCI Puerto Princesa Kiao screened and selected deserving mothers to honor and recognize their contribution that creates positive impact and change lives at the community and help in building the nation and her family at the same time.

      This year beneficiaries of Wow si Mom comprised of women group in Palawan, DSWD 4Ps members, and NCCC Mall Palawan lucky shoppers with their family spending quality time in this special day with their mommies. (PR)
