After a month-long activity for the 28th Anniversary of the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan Act (SEP Law), the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) through PCSDS Spokesperson Jovic Fabello, announced the winners of their online contests in their Facebook Live program “SEP Talks”.
For PCSD Hymn Song Writing and Singing Competition, Fei Castillo emerged as champion who received P30,000 cash prize. Meanwhile, second and third placers Ellaine Jane Langbid and Eloisa Capuy received P10,000 and P5,000 respectively. In addition, Musical Award and Director’s Choice Award was granted solely to Loy Hajime Tarre who received P2,500 for the recognition.
In another singing and composition competition, the “MusiKalikasan” Rap Contest, Pamana by Paano, Quizzy J (Job Raphael Robrigado) and Archelle Montinor was recognized as first, second and third placers. Each of the winners received P15,000, P10,000 and P5,000 respectively.
For photography contest “PalaraWan,” well-known travel photographer George Tapan has served as one of the judges. The winners for amateur category were Christian Lirazan, followed by Jay Rex Quirino and Whendy Orlido while for the Professional category, Jaylord Magasco won as champion, Ronald Palay coveted the next spot while Bert Andone as the third placer. Winners for this competition received P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000 for Pro Category while P8,000, P6,000 and P4,000 for amateur category.
Also, the Director’s Choice Award was awarded both to Jasper Lagman and Alanis Shania Abian, the George Tapan Geographic Award was given to Christian Lirazan who also turn up to be a champion in amateur category while the People’s Choice Award was both awarded to Mike Allen Gabinete and Pro category winner Jaylord Magarso.
Meanwhile, for Poster-Making Contest senior category, Joshua Cariño coveted the first spot followed by Timotea Llanera. For junior category, Mishi Jumuad won the first place, followed by Ryan Guinto A.K.A Sana Oil and Montaser Abas. First placers of the two categories equally received P10,000, while the second placers received P7,000 and the third placers is P5,000 each.
The PCSDS once again stated that as part of the criteria for four online activities, all participants agreed that joining and winning in the contests gives PCSDS and the Council the provision to use their materials for campaigns, information-dissemination drives, and other activities.
“Ngayon lang namin na-realize na hindi lang pala blessed ang Palawan [sa mga likas na yaman], kundi [sa talento rin dahil] napaka-diverse din ng talents ng mga Palawenyo,” Fabello delightedly said prior to the announcement of the winners on July 9.
