The Puerto Princesa City Tourism Office is now in serious event planning to formally open the tourism of the City in a slow manner. The agency is set to kick off the announcement thru a caravan all set this coming November 14, 21 and 28, three weekend events happening in three selected destinations in the capital of Palawan.

The caravan will be participated in by different motoring groups and bikers in the City along with some local influencers, bloggers and vloggers, according to City Assistant Tourism Officer Demetrio Alvior. The said event aims to create noise and inform the local public that the tourism industry of Puerto Princesa is now ready, whenever they open for tourists. He emphasized that this Caravan project is an initiative of the City Tourism Council that they support and assist.

“Gusto nating ipakita na we are preparing for the opening of tourism parang bangon turismo, parang gano’n ang point, kaya pupuntahan ang mga destinations na ready na ito, once na mag prepare na ‘yung City Government sa mga logistics na kailangan namin i-put up then pwede na siyang i-open sa local market,” Alvior said.

The all three Saturday weekend caravan is being ironed out as of this writing as the conclusion meeting is being finalized in the coming days. As per plan, according to Alvior, the three destinations they are talking to visit are in Sitio Sabang, Langogan area, and the west coast area.

Included in the planning is the opening of Puerto Princesa Underground River depending on the result of the inspection from Incident Management Team of the City. “Isang stage sa Sabang, tapos isang stage sa Langogan, north south west bago north east ganun ang direction, isasabay na rin ang pag open sa Underground, i-inspection na rin siya ng IMT kung ready na talaga, baka isabay na rin siya,” Alvior added.

The said reopening programs will only cater for the locals, since domestic tourists from other places is not yet allowed as of now to travel. As initially discussed, the Caravan will start as early six in the morning coming from jump off point in the City proper such as SM Malls, Robinsons and NCCC, a short program will commence in the destination and a dispersal of attendees will follow and encourage them to go to some falls or beach in the nearby area.

“Mga 3 hours lang, mag kick off ng 6 tapos mga 8 to 9 nasa Tagkawayan na yan, do’n mag breakfast tapos after ng maikling program mag dispersed na, kung gusto nila mag punta ng Tagkuriring, Talaudyong, Nagtabon, Salakot mga west coast na lugar na puedeng pasyalan,” Alvior explain.
