Palawan’s alternative rock band Wateber just recently released their first ever music video online entitled “Slomo”. It is also the first original song they uploaded in different music platforms.

The said song according to Wateber frontman Noy Laurio who personally composed it, is a song that conveyed the feeling of being in love, of experiencing that kind of slow motion feeling usually seen in the movies.

“Yung Slomo eh isang original namin na nasulat ko at inareglo no’ng 2013 pa, it is about the feeling and confirmation na nahuhulog ka na talaga sa kanya, akala ko kasi dati sa pelikula lang nangyayari ‘yung mga gano’n pero na-experience ko siya, at ‘yun ‘yung pinakamasarap na feeling na naramdamam ko,” Laurio said.

The music video uses Mendoza Park and a private studio as the location, directed by Videographer Sam Lodor who claims that the concept is a simple straightforward attack, but it shows how fun it is to be with this band, and that funny side is what he intents to showcase.

“ ‘Yung bandang ito eh funny at matagal na sila sa ganitong style na madalas ma-misinterpret ng iba na parang mayabang or kung ano man, but in reality sobrang nakakatawa itong mga tao, at mukha lang talaga silang tambay pero matataas ang pinag-aralan nila, ‘yung iba dyan law student pa,” Lodor explain.

Wateber started their band career way back 2007 when Laurio was still based in Quezon Palawan, but it was in 2010 when he started looking for bandmates and fulfilled his dream of performing in different bars and occasions.

The band is composed of Laurio being the lead vocals, also includes Joey Bunag, Mako Perez, Ryan Ebalang, Jayson Cudio and Allan Ocampo. In 2015 they already released their self-titled album via Little Hideout Productions, and does live recording sesions thru 429 studio.

Slomo can be watched at 429 studio Facebook page, and available at Spotify, Itunes and many other music apps worldwide.

“ ‘Yung Wateber, Whatever pa dati, binago namin ‘yung pangalan to Wateber to sound more like pinoy no’ng 2012,” Laurio added.
