PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, PALAWAN— A day of giving, compassion, and community service brought smiles and hope to hundreds of underserved students as the Kiwanis Club of the Bright Beginnings conducted an outreach program for 438 beneficiaries of Matahimik Bucana Elementary School in Sitio Iwahig, Barangay Bucana, Puerto Princesa City, on July 27, 2026.
The outreach provided essential services and assistance to students, including free slippers, hygiene kits, haircuts, a feeding program, and eye examinations. The initiative aimed not only to address the immediate needs of the children but also to promote their health, well-being, confidence, and readiness to learn.
The project was also a meaningful celebration of the 36th birthday of the project chair, who chose to mark the occasion through service to children and the community.
“On my 36th birthday, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the little ones by providing eyeglasses, food, slippers through our campaign, ‘Na Walang Batang Walang Tsinelas,’ hygiene kits for healthy students, and free haircuts,” the project chair Jollibee Bacolod said.
The chair added that a life well lived is a precious gift of hope, strength, and grace, emphasizing the importance of leaving behind a legacy of joy, compassion, and service.
“Live life with a purpose—to serve humanity and help brighten the future of our children,” the chair said.
The outreach program was made possible through the collaboration and support of Synth Rattania Diseños Furniture Trading, QueensBee Land Realty Estate and Management, Jimmy Del Rosario Optical Clinic, and other partners and volunteers.
Through this collective effort, the Kiwanis Club of the Bright Beginnings demonstrated that meaningful change can begin with simple acts of kindness—one child, one service, and one community at a time.
