An international hotel brand, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Puerto Princesa, celebrated 10 years of top quality customer service, showcasing the artworks of local artists in the province in a recently concluded thanksgiving party.
“For this year, we are celebrating Palawan culture and arts. As you can see behind me, we are featuring works of top artists from Palawan. We will be doing this throughout the year. We are featuring artworks from different artists, different media with different topics and themes every quarter. I invite everyone to take part and to view what Palawan artists are all about here in Microtel,” said Rene C. Suarez, General Manager of Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa.
He also added that it has been a privilege for Microtel Puerto Princesa to be part of the growing tourism industry in the city.
“This year, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary. [We are] privileged to be a part of the Puerto Princesa Tourism Industry. When we first arrived here, there were only a few hotels. We were able to help drive growth of the tourism industry especially after the announcement of the [inclusion of the PPUR as one of the] 7 New Wonders of Nature that reached its peak in 2012. We hit a few bumps along the way, but the City has a natural beauty that still manages to attract tourists from all over the world and we are here to serve them, serve the Filipino people, whatever way we can. We are here to provide them clean, comfortable, safe and secure, value-for-money accommodations. It’s been a privilege and pleasure to be here in Puerto Princesa. We are hoping that we would be able to continue for ten more years and beyond,” Suarez added.
He also confirmed that some of the artworks made by local artists headed by Jonathan Benitez that are being exhibited are for sale, while others are not.
“Microtel Puerto has contributed a lot to the tourism industry of Puerto Princesa and the whole of Palawan. It remains, if not the top three, within the top five of the best hotels in Puerto Princesa and Palawan, as a whole. I would like also to congratulate everyone, [especially the pillars]. I would also consider the three pillars of Microtel Puerto Princesa –my father, the visionary; Mr. Del Rosario, that represents Phinma; and Mr. Rene [Suarez],” said Roy Peña, Chairman of the Board of Nemo Beach Hotel Corporation (Microtel) and representative for the Peña family.
When asked what makes Microtel one of the best hotels in Puerto Princesa and in Palawan, as a whole, Suarez said, “Microtel Puerto Princesa has a very good beachfront. This is what all our guests are so happy about — when they see our beachfront. And of course, the next is the quality of our customer service, as part of an international chain of hotels, the Wyndham Worldwide group of hotels, one of the biggest if not the biggest hotel chain in the world. We adhere to international standards of quality service, and then, especially the Filipino brand of hospitality. We mix those and what we get is a purely unique level of customer service that’s genuinely Filipino, as well as, Microtel.”
“Without our partners here present, the ten years of Microtel will not be possible. I guess the project here would not be possible without the goodness of the Peña family. Thank you for opening your property to Microtel. The vision of Microtel before is to be present in provinces, first and foremost. Pag lumabas ka ng Metro Manila, mahirap maghanap ng hotel na may hot shower, malinis,” said Mr. Dean Y. Cid, Chief Operating Officer of Phinma Hospitality, Inc., a management company and master franchisee of Microtel by Wyndham in the Philippines.
“Palawan has been voted as the best island in the world for three years in the row. Puerto Princesa is the gateway to Palawan. Microtel is one of the best hotels in Puerto Princesa. I invite you, if you are going to enjoy Puerto Princesa at its best, to come to Microtel Puerto Princesa to experience the best in customer service,” said Suarez.
“Indeed, it has been a decade of experience and challenges in Microtel Puerto Princesa. I want to thank our partners, the travel agency partners, media partners, who are here. Even if the invitations are short notice, you still came. I want to thank Sir Dean Cid and Sir Roy Pena for flying in to Palawan just for this anniversary. Ang pinaka special talaga ang mga local artists. Thank you very much for showcasing your art to local and Microtel guests. Thank you very much,” said Josephine Fabello, sales and marketing manager of Microtel Puerto Princesa.
The event was capped with the opening of the art exhibit, titled the Colors of Summer, followed by musical numbers from the Palawan Chorale and Palawan Dance Troupe who entertained the guests and visitors with their excellent rendition of Filipino songs.
