The COVID-19 crisis presents an opportunity for new brands to rise up focusing on cashless and contactless commerce. Here in Puerto Princesa City, a local company just recently launched a mobile application that answers to the current needs of the community in quarantine – because one cannot byahe, (travel) “Byahe” will do it for you.

“Byahe” mobile delivery app offers services like food delivery and parcel delivery. It covers the whole City area reachable by motorcycle.

“Pini-feature ni Byahe Mobile application is meron pong tatlo, yung una po is Ride, food delivery and parcel delivery, tapos sa industry ng mobile application para mag stand out sya kailangan may feature sya na wala sa iba, naglagay po kami ng real time tracker sa delivery namin, as customer puede nilang i-check yung location ng inorder nila real time kung nasaan na banda yung delivery,” said by Anthony Concepcion, Marketing Manager of Byahe.

The rate for food delivery is P30 per first kilometre, while succeeding charge is P5 per km. For parcel delivery, allowable weight limit is 5 kilos. Service costs at P50 per first kilometre distance and P5 for the succeeding distance.

In terms of legal issues, Conception said they are in compliance with city business permits and with the required license of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Byahe only accepts cash payment as of now, to which 20% goes to the Byahe Transportation Services and 80% goes to the rider. They have 7 riders in the pilot stage and are still not hiring.

Byahe App is now available in Google Play store, App Gallery and soon in Apple Store. This was originally developed by John Charlie in 2018 along with some friends at Redeeme group, however it is only now when the need for the service is a great need and after finding an investor were they able to finally launch.

“Byahe signifies the movement ng bawat isa, kasi ride po movement yun, food delivery is movement din yun, and parcel, almost yung byahe is parang general term ng bawat isa dito sa community,” Concepcion added.

For now, they are looking forward to partner with different establishment and stores in the city. They are currently in partnership with SM City Puerto Princesa along with all the store tenants of the mall. Operation starts at 9 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon, from Mondays to Saturdays.
