Online Drawing Contest held amid locked down

The winners of Online Drawing Contest organized by Frontier Lodge at Brookes Point Palawan were announced on their official Facebook page on April 5, 2020. There were: First prize winner Melson Embralino with artwork title entry: Modern Heroes, Second prize winner: Rojie Quiapo with artwork title entry: The only way to survive, and Third prize winner Francis Carl Latube with artwork title entry: Bawat isa”y magkaisa, palakasin ang resistensya, mag distansiya, maging malinis at manatiling maniwala sa ngalan ng Diyos Ama. All winners received cash prize :1st Prize: Php1,000.00 load or online cash transfer to atm (option to give to desired frontliner), 2nd Prize: Php500.00 load or online cash transfer to atm (option to give to desired frontliner) and Php300.00 load or online transfer to atm (option to give to desired frontliner). The artwork entries of non-winners were also exhibited at online Facebook page.

The local artists in the province were tapped to join in the contest which will depict all their entries with the following pertinent details: Subject:

  1. What do you look forward to after this crisis?
  2. Positivity & ‘Bayanihan’ amidst crisis.
  3. Break after the Outbreak.

Medium: No restriction Criteria in judging:

50% – Theme (Good vibes)

30% – Creativity

20% – Neatness

Total 100%

Deadline: April 4, 2020, 12 noon.

The organizers released at online page the following online contest mechanics:

  1. Open to All Artist based in Palawan.
  2. There are no size & materials restriction.
  3. Send Three Pictures of your artwork

* Artwork in progress.

* Picture of you holding your artwork.

* Picture of your artwork.

  1. Send to frontier.lodge@yahoo.com or pm the pictures to Frontier Lodge Page.
  2. Your artwork must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material.
  3. Make sure that your artwork is signed and that the signature is visible in the image you uploaded.
  4. Awarding of winners will be announced and listed on this page on April 5, 2020.
  5. Don’t forget to have fun!
  6. Stay at home, stay safe, save lives.
  7. Pray always.

The head organizer of online event Shin Arzaga Evangelista of Frontier Lodge shared the detailed goals and purposes of the activity which are:

* To show our support to frontliners.

*To encourage the youth to develop their skills and passion for art.

* To encourage everyone to be safe, stay at home for the sake of our frontliners.

* To create a good vibes and attitude of positivity during this crisis.

* To encourage everyone to look for silver lining, to stay positive and everything will be alright as long as we pray and trust God.

“And to show that it is more important to be united than divided in times of crisis”

Ms. Evangelista added addressing the artists and community solidarity affected by enhanced community quarantine.
