The founder of Moto in Can and full-time eco-artist Jc Enon from Puerto Princesa City received an invitation from iCARES (interEdx Center for Advanced Research on Energy and Sustainability) to attend The World Education Summit on Sustainability and Transformation and accept the recognition as one of Earth Hero awardees on November 22-24, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The President and CEO of iCARES, Lee Dedicatoria, congratulated Mr. Enon for being chosen as one of the iCARES Earth Hero awardees.
Dedicatoria told him, “Your significant contribution to our environment is recognized not only by this organization but most of all your country and eventually the whole world. We at iCARES are proud of your outstanding achievement, in making a difference for the benefit of the future generation.”
Mr. Enon thanked the organizers and seeks financial support from Palawenyos for him to attend the event.
“Una po sa lahat thank you kay God for this talent and skills. Thank you iCares and Interdex. Although I may not have enough funds for the travel to Las Vegas yet I’m hoping to be there personally to represent the Philippines in the international education summit. It is a big honor for me to be one of the awardees,” said Enon.
Moto in Can advocates the upcycling and recycling of junk materials from beverage tin cans, which is aimed to help lessen trash that are thrown and end up in the landfill and to turn these into miniature bicycles and other souvenir items.
The main objective of iCARES Earth Hero award is to create awareness and the significant impact that will serve as an inspiration and example to others.
iCares, meanwhile, said that “The World Education Summit on Sustainability and Transformation (WESST) is a creation of interEdx Center for Advanced Research on Energy and Sustainability (iCARES) – an educational research non-profit organization registered in the USA. Any and all event proceeds benefit sustainable development projects and education building initiatives. We invite local and global partners to make this a continuing development event in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
The summit will be a great platform to feature and highlight artworks made of recycled cans of Moto In Can to the delegates from different organizations, coming from different cities and countries, and to attract prospective clients, investors or collaborative partners for growth and expansion.
