Former Binibining Pilipinas International 2015 and Palawan’s very own multi-pageant titleholder Janicel Lubina-Valera recently revealed her latest endorsement via social media-her own signature line of footwear products that are 100 % made in the Philippines.

Lubina, who is living with her husband in the United States of America for three years now, shared that this is a blessing and another dream come true for her, because having her own shoe line is something she pondered about while growing up in the town of Narra.

“I have always dreamed of having my own line in which I can provide elegant and stylish shoes at an affordable price. I didn’t grow up with a lot of money, but always envisioned myself wearing these kinds of shoes, but was just unable to afford them. I thought, well, maybe I can make a difference and sell these shoes to those who were in the same situation as I was growing up,” Lubina said during an exclusive chat with Palawan Daily.

“Janicel Lubina Binibini” has seven designs to choose from: Deborah, Carolina, Imilia, Zofia, Agnes, Olga and Cara. Prices range from P480 to P350 per pair. The shoes are well-crafted by the locals of Liliw in the province of Laguna, and the shoe line is her way to help communities during this pandemic.

“I believe that this was a great way for me to help our local community by sourcing in the Philippines rather than overseas. I want people to have better options at a most affordable price,” Lubina said.

For now, Janicel’s shoe brand is sold online through her Facebook and Instagram accounts, and more designs personally hand-picked by her will be released soon.

As soon as the pandemic ends, Janicel and her businessman hubby James Valera are looking forward to visit Palawan, particularly her hometown, Narra.

“I am doing well in the United States, but I miss home. We hope to come back to Palawan as soon as this pandemic is over. I want James to see the life that I had back home, and also meet my family and friends,” Lubina shared.
