When it comes to popularity, the Anyhow Band is the most sought after reggae music group in Palawan today. Their perfect timing of natural comedy makes them so far the favorite among locals who look forward to releasing stress, and listening to good songs that make you up and wiggle to the dance floor.

Anyhow Band started in 2013, started as competitor in some local battle of the band contest they unite and create stuff together after series of bonding, exchange gigs invites and naturally dwell to their craziness brought by personal day to day experience, they became iconic in many out of town and bars gig in the City with the style of rephrasing some lyrics to the joy of their audience.

Anyhow Band is composed of Ronnel Ubay as the front man and guitarist, Tom Regaspe for the Bass, Elcis Chavez as the Lead Guitar, Ralph Galang for Percussions, Clifford Ladrillo for the Drums and newcomer Jeffrey Luna as guitarist.

“Start kami 2010, Music Infinity pa kami no’n Reggae na agad, then 2013 nag decide kami na palitan ang banda na Anyhow, Inspired ng inihaw kasi kapag may outing lagi kami merong inihaw, ini-english lang namin kasi may mga kapangalan rin kami na iba, so Anyhow do’n kami nag start, so ‘yun tagalog term ng mga anu-ano pa man, kahit papano,” Ubay said regarding the origin of their band name.

For Ubay their huge following can be credited to their longevity in the local industry of music, their uninterrupted career as musicians made them become loved by many who appreciate good vibes in hanging out at night, plus their humor comes naturally most especially when you know them personally.

This 2021 they are determined to finish recording their first solo album as a band, all original songs mostly speak about friendships, nature and love for a total of 15 songs. Polishing the recording is a challenge for them since many of their members have day jobs.

“Meron original songs kaso hindi pa namin nalalapatan so gusto namin sabay sabay namin gagawin, may mga songs na kami hindi lang malapatan ‘yung iba kasi busy, may trabaho, once a week lang kasi kami nag-papractice,” Ubay shared.

Anyhow look up to many local band who is ahead of them in the entertainment scene of Palawan, some of them are Mitus Tribe, Blue Balls and 66Farenheit, they consider them as their icons in promoting peace and harmony among performing artists in the province.

Ubay, a Criminology major said that Anyhow doesn’t have a secret formula as a band. He believes that other bands like them are just the same in terms of making the audience happy whenever you’re on stage.

“Pareho-pareho lang naman ng style, do’n lang kami sa more on funny, nadudugtungan namin ng funny eksena ‘yung mga kanta, siguro gano’n, ‘pag pumapasok sa akin na nakakatawa na word na nababanggit ko sa mga lyrics, siguro ‘yun lang,” Ubay said.

You can watch the Anyhow Band live every Monday night at Dragon 64 Entertainment KTV Bar, Wednesday at Tatabom Bar back to back with Mitus Tribe, and every Thursday at Runway Plaza.
