Eroplano ng Pilipinas, hinaras ng Tsina

Nagpakawala ng mga flares ang Tsina mula sa kanilang militarisadong isla sa Zamora Reef noong Agosto 22, habang nagsasagawa ng Maritime Domain Awareness Flight ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Ang insidente ay naganap sa loob ng territorial sea ng Pag-asa Island kung saan ang eroplano ng BFAR, na isang Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, ay nasa ilalim ng koordinasyon ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) para magmonitor at pigilan ang mga illegal na mangingisda sa Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas.

Bukod dito, noong Agosto 19, hinaras din ng People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) ng Tsina ang parehong eroplano ng BFAR habang ito’y nasa isang MDA flight malapit sa Bajo de Masinloc. Ang Chinese Fighter Jet 63270 ay nagpakawala ng mga flares sa napakadelikadong distansya na humigit-kumulang 15 metro mula sa eroplano ng BFAR, isang aksyon na naglagay sa panganib sa kaligtasan ng mga tauhan nito.

Mariing kinondena ng Pilipinas ang mga mapanganib na kilos ng Tsina, na nagpapakita ng agresibong intensyon at lumalabag sa kaligtasan ng mga sasakyang pandagat at panghimpapawid ng Pilipinas sa loob ng teritoryo at EEZ nito. Ang mga ganitong aksyon ay nagbabanta sa kapayapaan at seguridad sa rehiyon at nagpapababa sa imahe ng Tsina sa mata ng internasyonal na komunidad.
