Lolit Solis, a fixture in Philippine entertainment as a sharp-tongued columnist, talent manager, and talk show mainstay, passed away on July 4 at the age of 78.
Her death was confirmed by actor Niño Muhlach, who paid tribute to her on social media, calling her “Nanay Lolit” in a heartfelt farewell.
A prominent talent manager and entertainment columnist since the 1990s, Solis built a storied career that included hosting the long-running show Startalk (1995–2015), and subsequent stints on Tweetbiz Insiders and CelebriTV.
She was celebrated for her straightforward commentary and loyalty to the celebrities under her wing.
Solis had been contending with serious health issues in recent years, including regular dialysis treatments that began in 2022 due to an acute kidney infection.
In early 2023, she suffered a mild stroke following one of her sessions, a moment her loved ones described as her most frightening health episode.
As of this writing, the family has not released details regarding her wake or funeral arrangements.
