The Western Command of the Armed Forces is celebrating its 46th founding anniversary with the theme, “WESCOM @46: Resilient, United and Unshaken.”
In line with the celebration, AFP Chief of Staff of the General Andres C. Centino visited Matinloc Platform, Pag-asa Island and other Philippines occupied features in Kalayaan Island Group along with newly commissioned WESCOM commander, Navy Vice Admiral Alberto B. Carlos,
The AFP chief wanted to ensure the operational readiness of the units and enhanced the morale of troops stationed in the areas.
WESCOM also recognized its outstanding personnel, units and stakeholders for their exemplary performance and their significant contribution to the accomplishments of the command.
WESCOM further highlighted the recovery of war materiel, ammunition caches, equipment, terrorist propaganda materials and high powered firearms of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) from the focus military operation in various parts of Palawan.
