A total of 4,078 individuals from different Palawan towns have received their COVID-19 vaccine shot during the Special Vaccination Days last April 25-26, according to a report by the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Faye Erika Labrador said they originally targeted to administer at least 5,700 vaccines.
Meanwhile, PHO reported on April 24, a day before the Special Vaccination Days started, that 408,591 Palaweños have received their first doses while 414,661 have completed their second doses and 36,500 already had their booster shots.
The figure represents a total of 53.30% of fully vaccinated individuals from the 778,030 target population.
PHO concludes that over 100,000 Palaweños need to be vaccinated to be able to attain the 70% herd immunity in the province.
As part of this, continuous vaccination roll-out for kids aging 5 to11 is ongoing in different municipalities.
PHO is also encouraging non-vaccinated individuals to coordinate with their local health unit or centers is able to get their vaccine.
