A graduation ceremony was held on July 19, to honor the achievements and dedication of the exiting beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from the towns of Busuanga, Magsaysay, and Cuyo in the province of Palawan.
The Pugay Tagumpay ceremony took place at the Tenga-Tenga Cuyo Covered Gymnasium, where 51 beneficiaries graduated from the Municipality of Cuyo, and 15 from the Municipality of Magsaysay. The event was attended by members of the Municipal Inter-Agency Council and Department Heads of both towns, led by their respective Vice Mayors. Each graduate received a certificate of recognition and a token of appreciation from their municipalities.
Meanwhile, 98 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Busuanga also completed their journey and celebrated their graduation at the Busuanga LGU Gymnasium. Elizabeth M. Cervantes, Busuanga Mayor, expressed her continuous support for the graduating beneficiaries, along with the SB Member Benjamin Alarcon Jr., who oversees social services, and SB Member John Silver Edonga, who handles education matters.
According to the guidelines of the 4Ps, a household needs to exit the program when there are no longer children aged 0-18 to be monitored or registered, or when their living conditions have reached a level of self-sufficiency where they no longer require support from the program.
The endorsement of the graduating beneficiaries to the Local Government Units (LGUs) is part of the implementation of the Kilos-Unlad Framework, a guiding principle aimed at improving the lives of 4Ps beneficiaries within a span of 7 years. The LGUs will continue to provide support to these households to ensure their sustained progress and prevent them from falling back into poverty.
