The local government of Brooke’s Point, Palawan continues its efforts to fight against Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19 and to prevent the possible spread of the virus in their locality.

During the interview with Mayor Mary Jean Feliciano through Palawan Daily’s “Chris ng Bayan” online radio program, the official said that as of the latest, their municipality recorded a total of eight confirmed cases where three remains to be active cases, including the 22 years old male Locally Stranded Individual who arrived last July 31 from Metro Manila.

And ngayon po, dahil may bagong order na kailangan mag face shield, ipinatutupad narin po natin dito,” Mayor Feliciano said during the interview.

Feliciano also said that they are expecting to finish the renovations being conducted at the LGU’s newly-turned over evacuation center which was converted to be an additional quarantine facility.

Kaya dito, malaki talaga ang matitipid naming pag operational na ito and hopefully matapos s’ya next week or a week after dahil napalagyan narin s’ya ng water supply at electricity,” she added.

The facility will have at least 50 rooms with almost a dozen of comfort rooms to be used by the incoming LSIs and ROFs for their mandatory quarantine.

With regards to the manpower, Feliciano said that they have enough personnel to man the facility particularly the employees of Brooke’s Point LGU in order to save money.
