The Provincial Government of Palawan has provided a new hospital for patients in the northern island municipality of Cuyo and its neighboring town of Magsaysay.
The hospital was turned over by officials of the provincial government headed by Palawan Governor Jose Chaves Alvarez along with other department heads of the capitol on Wednesday, March 16.
The new hospital has a 50-bed capacity and was funded by the provincial government and Department of Health (DOH). The construction, funded by more than P126 million was bankrolled by both agencies.
To ensure quality medical and hospital services for the residents of both municipalities, the provincial government also allotted a total of P20 million for l machines needed for laboratory equipment and machines and another P16 million for the construction of its own Oxygen Plant. DOH also financially allotted another P30 million for medical equipment needed for the new hospital
The inauguration was attended by representatives from the Palawan Provincial Government and DOH spearheaded by Vice-Governor Victorino Dennis Socrates, Board Member Leoncio “Onsoy” Ola, Board Member Juan Antonio Alvarez and Maria Angela Sabando.
The Cuyo District Hospital is the 13th hospital which was built under Governor Alvarez’s administration.
