Natividad Bayubay is still the Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Palawan, according to ASDS Arnie Ventura, newly appointed OIC of Schools Division Office, Palawan. This, despite the Department of Education releasing the document of Formal Charges with Preventive Suspension against her for multiple administrative charges issued last December 1, 2020.

“As of now, siya pa rin po ang Schools Division Superintendent ng Palawan kasi po wala pa naman po siyang nare-receive na official communication from the Regional Office ng DepEd-MIMAROPA regarding her suspension,” said Ventura.

Ventura explained that the suspension order will undergo a process where it will go through different offices before it will be cascaded over to Bayubay.

“Kasi ang procedure po ang proper protocol po roon ay from the Office of the Secretary, ‘yung Central Office, then DepEd Regional Office then ibababa po sa DepEd Division Office. Ang count po do’n sa suspension upon receipt ng concerned person pero until now wala pa pong nare-receive. Wala pa rin po akong idea kung kalian po i-start ang investigation,” Ventura stated.

Bayubay is facing multiple administrative charges for mismanagement of funds, charging a registration fee of P2,000 per participant for a mental health webinar that could have been conducted for free, and charging a registration fee of P4,500 per participant for the conduct of Capacity Building Activities for School Heads and Teachers in Distance Learning without going through proper channels and failing to provide a refund to those who already paid after the cancellation of the said seminar.
