Fire devastated 41 families in puerto princesa

According to reports, the fire severely damaged 9 homes, while 3 others suffered partial damage. Among those affected are 12 homeowners, 20 renters, and nine individuals living in temporary housing. The incident particularly impacted vulnerable residents, including 11 senior citizens, 3 persons with disabilities, and 4 infants.

Local officials swiftly organized food assistance through a community kitchen to aid affected residents. Additionally, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) provided counseling services to those traumatized by the fire.

As of writing, 13 families have been temporarily sheltered at Abanico Elementary School, with the support of Barangay San Pedro officials and Captain Francisco Gabuco. They are also actively coordinating with various stakeholders to secure further assistance for the displaced families.

There is also an urgent call for donations, including hygiene kits, bedding, clothing, and food. Contributions can be delivered to the Barangay Hall of Masipag to support the affected families during this challenging time.
