The City Government of Iligan on Thursday, February 3, donated a total of P1 million monetary aid for Palaweños who were recently affected by typhoon Odette.
According to a press release from Palawan Provincial Information Office (PIO), the donation was personally turned over to the Palawan Provincial Government by Iligan City Councilor Jesse Ray Balanay at the provincial capitol.
The donation was approved by an ordinance issued by Iligan City through a resolution by its city council in a mission to bring help to different severely affected provinces due to the destruction cause by Odette last December.
Palawan Provincial Treasurer Elino Mondragon, who officially received the donation yesterday said that the fund would be allocated for the rehabilitation of the province.
Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez also expressed his gratitude for the donation according to Mondragon.
