Nine rescue vehicles for nine barangays of Rizal, Palawan are set to be distributed on Monday, March 21, as Mayor Otol Odi confirmed that the new vehicles already arrived in their town on Tuesday, March 15.

According to McArthur Asutilla, Odi’s spokesperson, Barangay Punta-Baja and Canipaan has already received their own rescue vehicles while Barangay Iraan, Bunog, Campung, Olay, Randang, Culasian, Panalingaan, Taburi, and Latud will receive each their own rescue vehicles on the awaited turn-over ceremony.

He added that a total of P10.8 million was allocated to purchase the nine rescue vehicles.

Odi said that he has longed to purchase rescue vehicles for each of the town’s barangay as far-flunged villagers in sitios are in desperate need of it especially during emergencies and accidents.

“Bumili tayo ng mga brand new na unit para gawing rescue vehicle ng mga barangay, ito kasi ang matagal nilang kahilingan kahit noong kapitan pa ako,  pangarap talaga namin ‘yan, malaking tulong talaga yan sa bawat ka-barangay natin,” Odi said.

According to a press release from his office, the budget came from the 20% Developement Fund of the Executive Budget for 2021 under the approval of the Municipal Development Council (MDC).
