Over 300 indigent senior citizens and Person with Disabilities in Coron have received their social pension last week, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) said.
The Provincial Information Office (PIO) Palawan, in a press release released recently, said that a total of 382 senior citizens and 29 PWDs received their social pension last December 3-7.
A total of P497,000 was allocated to indigent seniors while P231,000 was given to PWDs during the five-day payout.
The amounts are equivalent to six months total social pension of each beneficiary.
The said program was facilitated by the office of PSWD that aims to financially help elderly and disabled Palaweños in sustaining their medical and other expenses.
The “Local Senior Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens and Indigent Persons with Disabilities,” is also under Palawan Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez’s intiative.
