Provincial Vet Office checks meat products in Taytay

The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) in coordination with the local government of Taytay recently conducted a monitoring of meat suppliers, traders and stall vendors in Taytay town to ensure that meat products are safe for consumption.

Dr. June Clyde Descalla, Veterinary Officer I of PVO, initiated the meeting with meat stakeholders within the municipality to discuss and review protocols and measures inclined with the Department of Agriculture and National Meat Inspection Services (NMIS).

Some of the topics discussed were proper handling, supply and selling of fresh and frozen meat products. Following this, the PVO conducted an inspection on meat stalls vendors to check if they are following procedures and proper pricing of their products.

PVO aims to continue its monitoring on different public markets within Palawan to ensure that all meat traders, vendors and suppliers are ensure the health and safety of their consumers.
