A teenage boy was left bloodied and shaken after being struck with a bamboo stick by a motorcycle-riding assailant in the early hours of Monday, May 5, near Princesa Ville in Barangay Sta. Monica.
According to local police, the victim, estimated to be between 13 and 14 years old, was walking with a friend after accompanying someone home when they noticed a motorcycle trailing them. Without warning, the rider allegedly approached and struck the teen with a bamboo stick before fleeing the scene.
Emergency responders were quick to assist the victim, who sustained injuries but was reported to be in stable condition after receiving medical treatment.
The identity and motive of the assailant remain unclear. Authorities have launched an investigation and are calling for any witnesses in the area to come forward with information.
