Three Houses damaged by tornado in Brooke’s Point, Palawan

A tornado damaged three houses in Sitio Proper I, Barangay Samariñana, Brooke’s Point at around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Among the affected properties was the home of the Batugon family, which sustained major damage due to strong winds. According to an initial report from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), no injuries or casualties were reported.

The MDRRMO immediately responded to the incident, conducting inspections, documentation, and coordinating with barangay officials for the necessary support. Relief packs were quickly distributed to the affected families.

The local disaster office also coordinated with agencies such as the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and the FNFI Cluster to ensure continuous assistance and support.
As of this writing, the local government is appealing for additional aid and donations to help the displaced families recover and rebuild their homes.
