The provincial government of Palawan has awarded P10,000 in cash incentives to two centenarians through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Office.
Among the beneficiaries is 101-year-old Barbara Leido Evio from Barangay Poblacion, San Vicente, Palawan, who received her cash incentive on March 1. Roamualdo Aguirre, 102 years old, from Barangay 1 in Roxas, Palawan, was also awarded the same amount on March 17.
Representatives from the PSWDO personally handed the gift incentives to both beneficiaries. The cash incentives are under the Palawan Provincial Government’s Aid to Senior Citizens Program. Aside from the P10,000, local centenarians in the province also received P2,000 on their birthdays each year.
The centenarians will also soon receive another P100,000 from the national government under the “Centenarians Act of 2016,” or Republic Act 10868.
