PRO MIMAROPA’s drive against Violators of Laws and Ordinances nets 634

Police Regional Office MIMAROPA under the stewardship of PCSUPT EMMANUEL LUIS D LICUP, Regional Director has recorded a total of six hundred thirty-four (634) violators who were accosted for violating laws and city / municipal ordinance from June 13, 2018 to July 4, 2018.

Of the 634 accosted, two hundred eighty-four (284) were children who were accosted for violating the curfew hours, one hundred ninety-three (193) for drinking and smoking in public places, one hundred thirteen (113) for half naked displaying in public places and forty-four (44) for stoning, involving in trouble, riot/gang war.

For the dispositions, two hundred two (202) paid their fines while one hundred seventy-six (176) were advised to go home, twelve (12) have been charged for drinking and creating trouble and two hundred forty-four (244) were returned to their parents/ were ordered to attend seminar in the Barangay.

Among the operational thrusts of the PNP is the active presence deployment of policemen as an urgent intervention to prevent the occurrence of common street crimes. The region wide Intensified operations conducted were Oplan Sita, Oplan Bulabog, Oplan Bakal, and other anti- criminality operations in within the respective area of responsibilities of lower units including strict implementation of laws and ordinances.

The region wide operations against those violators were properly coordinated with the Local/Barangay Officials especially with regards to ordinances and were the results of the enactment of ordinances through the Local Peace and Order Councils or Sangguniang Bayan in areas where there are no existing ordinances in support of the PNP’s endeavor of preventing the occurrence of common street crimes.

Puerto Princesa City Police Office accosted the most number of violators with two hundred fifty-four (254) followed by Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office with two hundred thirteen (213), Romblon Police Provincial Office with seventy-five (75) and Mindoro Oriental Police Provincial Office with seventy-four (74).

PCSUPT LICUP strictly reminded all unit commanders to oversee the implementation of the said operations to ensure that all police operations will be in accordance with the PNP’s existing Police Operational Procedures and with due regard to the human rights and dignity of apprehended individuals.

PCSUPT LICUP further warned all uniformed personnel that any violations committed by them will be strictly dealt with accordingly.
