The Provincial Treasures’s Office intensified its drive to increase tax collection in a bid to boost local revenues and translate to more infrastructure projects in the province.

The move is in compliance with the instruction of Governor Jose C. Alvarez to maximize the local revenue collection.

This year, the Provincial Treasurer’s Officer headed by Provincial Treasurer Elino P. Mondragon conducted Tax Campaign and Information Dissemination on Tax Imposition in San Vicente, Palawan. They targeted taxpayers in the barangay level to increase their awareness that their barangay will also benefit from the increased collection.

Mondragon explained that the quality of the province’s social services and its infrastructure projects depend on the taxes collected.

Aside from conducting Tax Information Drive, their office sent Warrant Notices and Warrant of Levy to delinquent property owners and deployed personnel and assigned them to both south and north national highway’s checkpoints. This is intended to collect annual fixed tax from delivery vans and trucks that ply to the different routes and destinations outside Puerto Princesa City.

He urged delivery van and truck owners to visit their office.
