COVID-19 cases in Busuanga continue to rise; records 72 active cases

The Municipality of Busuanga records 72 COVID-19 active cases as of September 21, 2021, from 10 barangays. This is higher than the 64 cases last September 20, 2021.

According to Local Government Unit (LGU), of this number, 27 cases were from Brgy. Salvacion, 19 cases from Brgy. Old Busuanga, 14 in Panlaitan, Brgy. Concepcion, New Busuanga and Maglalambay recorded 3 cases each, while 2 cases in Brgy. Bogtong and San Isidro. And Brgy. Sto. Niño logged 1 active case.

The LGU announced the situation in Brgy. Bogtong and Conception, where all “close contacts” are from Brgy. Salvacion with the highest recorded cases of COVID-19.

“Ang mga close at secondary contacts ay na-trace na at naka-quarantine,” LGU said on their social media.

The Municipal Task Force (MTF) will submit the list of close and secondary contacts in the said barangays for monitoring.

Meanwhile, no close contacts have been identified from outside the families of those who tested positive from Maglalambay. Barangays, on the other hand, are advised to limit the movement of people until the contact tracing is completed.

Currently, the town of Busuanga has recorded a total of 266 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
