Two tennis players from Puerto Princesa City performed well during the recently concluded Palawan Pawnshop National Tennis Tournament held at Villareal Stadium in Roxas City, Province of Capiz, November 8 to 11. They were John Kendrick Bona and Brice Vincent Baisa.
Bona (11 years old) was declared Most Valuable Player and Champion under the category of 12 years old under singles, he was runner-up, too, for 14 under singles and 14 under doubles. While Baisa (10 years old) made it as runner up for 10 years under singles, and reach quarterfinals for 12 under singles.
According to Anthony Baisa, the manager of Team Palawan, the participation of his son and Bona were all their personal efforts, adding that it will be an added experience for the two players in preparation for more qualifying tournament in the next future.
Palawan Pawnshop National Tennis Tournament was joined by almost 33 tennis players all over the country. The duo will next compete this coming November 15 to 19 in Iloilo City for another leg of Palawan Pawnshop Tennis tournament.
