Those who had planned to live out their ultimate K-pop dream until the pandemic came may now have the chance to pick up from where they left off because the South Korean Embassy in Manila has announced the resumption of the issuance of tourist visas starting June 1, 2022.

According to the embassy, more information about the visa application procedure will be available soon to the public.

The issuance of short-term stay visas for tourists was suspended in 2020 during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was to prevent the spread of the virus from multiple entries of people all over the world.

However, such multiple-entry visas that were issued before the suspension last April 5, 2020, which were yet to expire, may be used without re-application, the embassy said.

In March 2022, the Korea Tourism Organization announced that tourists targeting to visit South Korea who has already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be exempted from the country’s mandatory quarantine.
