Palawan State University – The College of Teacher Education conducted its first ever School Encampment for the senior high school students with the theme, “Education through recreational activities,” which started on February 6, 2019, and will end on February 8.

Janice No, head of the camp and an instructor at PSU, said that the three-day event aims to promote awareness on how to survive and live without the use of technology.

The camp has different activities for the students including seminars, camp bonfire, search for Mr. & Ms. LSHS Ambassador/Ambassadress, and presentation of contemporary arts.

Their activities also include an ice cream-making, bazaar, and Palarong Pinoy. For the bazaar, the students will invite different businesses to set up booths in the campus and the students will be the ones to operate the business and market their products during the camp.

Jeah, a Grade 12 student, said, “[Ineexpect ko] na magiging busy kami [tapos] walang arte-arte. Kasi sabi nila, ang camping na ‘to is for survival.”
