The Incident Management Team/ Information Education Campaign (IMT/ IEC) this July inspected four (4) elementary schools to ensure that they can be used as quarantine facilities in Puerto Princesa City.
Pilot Elementary School, Sta. Monica Elementary School, F.Ubay Elementary School, and San Pedro Elementary School are the selected quarantine facilities for residents or Returning Residents of the City who return home from other provinces and are unable to pay hotel facilities.
The schools that will serve as quarantine facilities are open to legitimate residents of the city who will present an Indigent Certificate from the Barangay or City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD). They can stay for seven (7) days. Food and sleeping equipment will be provided by the Returning Residents.
Each classroom in the four (4) schools has its own bathroom, electric fan, light, and water. Aside from barangay tanods and barangay officials, guards from the IMT will also be placed at the quarantine facility to ensure that the quarantine period ends before each returning resident can finally return to the community.
The quarantine of returning residents was based on the quarantine protocols for inbound travelers of the City’s Local IATF Resolution No. 53 to ensure their safety against COVID-19 and their family and the entire community of the City of Puerto Princesa.
