4 Palawan scholars pass the midwifery licensure examination

Puerto Princesa, Palawan – Four Palawan scholars have made the province proud after passing the midwifery licensure exam held last month. The scholars, all graduates of Palawan State University, have achieved outstanding results and are now officially licensed midwives.
The four successful examines are Jerry Mae Busmeon from Quezon, Palawan, Mary Jane Badua from Brooke’s Point, Ivy Pearl Panes from and Rena Mae Garcellano both from Puerto Princesa.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission, which administered the exam, only 1,210 out of 2,588 examinees passed, making the achievement of the four Palawan scholars even more remarkable.
The Palawan scholars were part of the Palawan government’s SPS- Alay sa Kabataan – Programang Pang-Edukasyon para sa Palaweño which aims to help outstanding students to pursue their degree through the help and support of the government. The program allows students who have gained significant academic recognition to apply for a scholarship and eventually obtain a degree in their field of expertise.
The Palawan scholars’ achievement is also a significant milestone for the province, as it demonstrates the potential of its students and the quality of education provided by Palawan State University (PSU).
