Brgy. Sta. Monica: 1,888 households within Critical and Containment Zones

Barangay Sta. Monica has identified 1,888 households within the Critical and Containment Zones in the barangay, which was placed under lockdown in an effort to contain and prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Punong Barangay Ronaldo “Mong” Sayang cited this data in his letter to the city through City Planning and Development Head Engr. Jovenee C. Sagun.

To recall, the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) implemented effective June 29, 2020 to declare four puroks namely Purok Maunlad, El Rancho, Fisherman’s Village and Villa Princesa and portions only of five other puroks under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ)while all other parts of the barangays were placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

Other purok with portions of its territory placed under MECQ were Purok Magalang, Gumamela, Pagkakaisa, Maagap and Mountain View.

Markers, signages and blockage were installed by the authorities in these Critical and Containment Zones.

Brgy. Sta. Monica has a total of more than 20,000 residents in its 18 puroks.

The City Government of Puerto Princesa said that they will provide assistance to the identified families/households within the Critical and Containment Zones from June 30 until July 1, 2020.
