Fifteen teams composed entirely of male employees from various departments of the Provincial Government participated in the highly anticipated PGP Employees Summer League 2023 Basketball Tournament. Organized by the diligent efforts of the Provincial Government Security Services (PGSS) under the guidance of PGSS Officer-In-Charge Roberto T. Fabregas, Jr., in collaboration with the Provincial Sports Division, the tournament commenced this past April and recently culminated with an intense championship game held at the PGP Convention Center on Wednesday, August 16.
Amidst an atmosphere of excitement and fervor, the team from the Governor’s Office emerged as the ultimate victors, securing the coveted title of tournament champions.
Following closely in second place was the Danz En’ Sound team, while the PGSS team secured the third spot, and the Office of the Vice Governor’s team secured a respectable fourth place. Each of these accomplished teams was awarded a well-deserved trophy as a token of their remarkable efforts and achievements throughout the competition.
The primary objective behind this engaging event was not only to promote physical well-being among the participating employees but also to foster a sense of unity and mutual respect, essential components for effective collaboration and performance in their respective roles within the provincial government.
Among the notable teams that took part in this thrilling tournament were the Governor’s Office- Audio Van Boyz, Palawan Rescue 165 Seacraft, PJMD Team, PEPO, Governor’s Office- Chief of Staff Office, Team POP, La Shooters- Legal Admin, PDRRMO, PEO, GSO, and Team Congress.
Looking ahead, this successful initiative is set to become an annual tradition, with plans to hold the event each year, commencing in the month of April. The Provincial Government and its employees are eagerly anticipating the continuation of this sporting tradition, as it serves as a testament to their dedication to wellness, teamwork, and friendly competition.
