Puerto Princesa City honors nine centenarians with P100,000 cash incentive

Mayor Lucilo Rodriguez Bayron personally presented nine centenarians with a cheque amounting to one hundred thousand pesos (₱100,000.00) each.
The ceremony took place during the flag-raising ceremony at the New Green City Hall Building, Barangay Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa City yesterday morning, March 11.
Among the nine recipients of the cash incentives were Lola Martina Singane and Lola Lolita Velez from Barangay Sta. Lourdes; Lola Antonieta Espańola from Barangay Tagabinet; Lolo Jacobo Ricarte from Barangay Bahile; Lola Monica Tolentino from Barangay Model; Lola Apolinaria Sumandal from Barangay Maruyugon; Lola Sofia Celestial from Barangay Sicsican; Lolo Lino Lazo Sr. from Barangay Kamuning; and Lolo Feliz Asutilla from Barangay San Jose.
The program aims to recognize and honor centenarians, forming part of the compassionate initiatives under the Mega Responsive Administration – the Senior Citizen Assistance Program.
In addition to the ₱100,000 cash incentive from the city government, centenarians will also receive an additional ₱100,000 from the national government through the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD). This provision is in accordance with the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) under Republic Act 10868 or the “Centenarians Act of 2016.”
The provision of incentives is expected to assist centenarians with their financial, medical, and daily living needs. Mayor Bayron once again demonstrated his genuine love and affection for the elderly residents of Puerto Princesa.
