Seven Seas Navigator docked at Puerto Princesa City, March 3, 2019, carrying 600 passengers, making it as the 7th Cruise Ship to visit the city.
City Tourism Officer Aileen Cynthia Amurao said this month of March two more cruise ships will make their maiden calls in Puerto Princesa, which will have a positive impact in the city tourism this 2019.
“For this March we have two maiden calls. Mga first timers kaya ng 2019,” Amurao said.
Amurao emphasized of the cruise ships make their port calls in the Philippines making their way to Puerto Princesa even after Boracay re-opened.
“I was informed na bumalik na din sa Boracay. Pinakamarami pa rin yung nasa atin, majority of the cruise ships na nag port of call dito sa Philippines talagang dumadaan dito sa Puerto Princesa. Hindi naman lahat pero majority,” she added.
Amurao called the attention of all their partners and concerned government agencies that the majority of the tourists are Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability (PWDs) and they should make their facilities and destinations friendly to them.
“Nanawagan ng partners even government agencies concerned. Nakita majority of our tourists are seniors and PWDs, this is the time for us to really prepare facilities, roads, destinations. Dapat PWD friendly or Senior Citizen friendly para mas experience ng tourists ,” Amurao said.
Seven Seas Navigator is on 147 days’ cruise from Miami to New as “Easter”. The itinerary starts on December 19, 2018 and ends on May 15, 2019. From Puerto Princesa the ship will cruise to Boracay and later on to Manila.
