Suspension of arrival of returning residents starting Dec. 18

City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron said that the local Inter-Agency Task Force against Covid 19 has requested the regional IATF to temporarily suspend the arrival of returning residents effective December 18, 2020.

He said that the City’s frontline health services workers requested for the suspension of arrival so that they could have their Christmas break.

Currently, there are more than 300 returning residents who are housed in hotels to strictly observe proper health protocols, specifically the mandatory quarantine to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Mayor Bayron also informed that the local IATF made a stand to disallow the holding off Christmas parties by the different offices of the City Government of Puerto Princesa.

The move, Mayor Bayron explained, will prevent any possible transmission of the disease since parties that usually lasts until nighttime or midnight, gathered people from the different barangays and places.
