Three persons were arrested by the City Police after they allegedly shoved and punched police operatives in Runway, Barangay San Miguel.

Based on the police report, the suspects were identified as Chris Anthony Bungay, Cristonie Bungay and Ericson Panahon, all of legal ages and residents of the city.

PNP Station 1 Chief, Police Captain Aaron Elona, said his troops were doing police response operations when they saw the suspects at the highway who were noticeably under the influence of liquor.

As they approached the three, one of them allegedly pushed a police officer and tried to draw a punch that led to their arrest.

“Kakausapin lang sana pero paglapit ng tropa, tinulak at susuntukin pa kaya sila inaresto, kita naman ng mga tao sa area ang nangyari,” Elona told Palawan Daily News.

Upon reaching the PNP Station 1, the suspects started to shout, went wild and even challenged the police officers to a fight.

One of them bit one of the officers who was trying to calm them down and the other one undressed himself and threw his wallet.

“Nagwawala na pagdating dito sa istasyon, nakita n’yo rin naman na talagang nag-iiskandalo sila at naninira na at kinagat pa ang tao natin,” Capt. Elona added.

Meanwhile, in defense, the suspects denied all the allegations and have a different story.

“Nakainom kami but kailangan kami igapos ng ganito? Makikipag-away talaga kami even na mga pulis sila, ganituhin nila, makikipag-away talaga kami,” Cristonie said in an interview.

One of them also said that they have no violations and they were questioning why they were arrested by the city police.

“Uminom lang kami, hindi kami masamang tao, hindi kami nag-wild, bakit kami hinuli, hindi kami nakikipag-away,” one of them told PDN to defend themselves.

City police is looking for possible charges to be filed against the three like alarm and scandal, damage to government properties and assault upon a person in authority.
