No time for nothin’

Having a hard time lying on your bed for the most part of your day? Hands having calluses from over opening you palm waiting for the heavenly blessing from your mother’s wallet, fingers having muscle cramps due to ‘over click and swipe’, red groggy eyes due to ‘over screen time’ and the saddest of all, having hard time digging in your pockets ‘cause its empty in any case.

Most of us waved goodbye to our schools, to our teachers, to our classmates and sadly, our baon. That daily ration of goods fuelling your energy to go to school is gone and you’ve got nothin’ but to stare on your phone, chatting with friends with some ranting in social media about your boring summer life or anything that you see that you can waste your time on, you’ve got plenty anyway.

Yet, I’ve got no time for nothin’, I don’t wanna spend my vacation sitting in front of my computer playin’ some good old classic games, picking nose and counting how many times your neighbor’s dog barked. I don’t wanna waste my time doing nothin’ so I looked for a decent job.

Beds are cursed. Once you laid your back, you’ll have hard time to stand up. Well you’ve got to find a way to break the habit and find a good way to waste your unused energy on. Finding a job might not be that easy, you might need some extra connections and little birds to give you some tips and infos where you can find some.

After my Senior High School graduation, I decided to look for a job. Since I’ve got some experience in journalism, I tried to apply as a writer to a local news outlet. Fortunately, I got hired and I’m able to do the stuff I want to do. It is not easy I say, swinging from high school journalism life to professional one. Yet I’m able to do something useful with my time.

Experience is life’s greatest and smartest teacher where you can learn a lot of things, things that you can’t learn inside your school. If some establishments are looking for some service crew, go and apply as long as you’re doing the right thing and your job is legal its fine. Any kind of job is an experience to teach us lessons in life, there’s nothing wrong in trying and learning.

Things that you learned inside your schools, organizations or other people are your fuel in applying in jobs. I’m an active journalist in our school taking different positions from layout artist to editor and these things helped me a lot in the job I’m working on. You’ve got to have to be willing to learn and rise up from your mistakes. Taking on jobs in an early age is an advantage to you not just financially but in life as a whole.

If you want to waste your precious time on mundane things, it’s your choice, but to those who chose to do something productive with their time, at least we’ve got some head start in life.
